NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS
Our National Headquarters divisions lead our mission-driven efforts across a wide range of programs, initiatives, and support services to honor and assist veterans, inspire young people, and advocate for the needs of the military community. These divisions are organized as follows:
Patriotism and Youth Programs
This division focuses on fostering American values, civic responsibility, and patriotism, while mentoring youth and supporting their education. Programs include scholarships, service learning, and activities like youth oratory contests and Junior ROTC, all aimed at building future leaders who understand the importance of national service and citizenship.
National Conventions and Events
The Convention Division is responsible for planning the annual national convention, which gathers veterans, families, and leaders from across the nation. Additionally, the division coordinates smaller meetings, conferences, and events throughout the year that help foster community and collaboration among members.
Emblem Sales oversees all official Legacy Veterans Institute merchandise, including apparel, pins, caps, and other items representing the Institute’s values and symbols. Proceeds support the Institute’s programs, and items are available through the annual catalog and online.

Finance and Resource Management
This division manages the organization’s financial health, budgets, and endowments to ensure that resources are allocated effectively. It oversees funds for special initiatives, including youth scholarships and veterans' welfare programs, allowing the Institute to operate sustainably.
Technology and Innovation
The Convention Division is responsible for planning the annual national convention, which gathers veterans, families, and leaders from across the nation. Additionally, the division coordinates smaller meetings, conferences, and events throughout the year that help foster community and collaboration among members.
Focused on member engagement, the Internal Affairs & Membership Division supports local chapters, member recruitment, and community development. Programs include family assistance, emergency relief, and volunteer initiatives that promote active community involvement and mutual support among veterans and their families.
Membership and Community Outreach
Government and Legislative Affairs
This division advocates for veterans' rights and policies in Congress and works with state and national legislative councils. It provides members with resources to engage in policy discussions, keeping them informed on legislation affecting the military and veteran community.
Marketing and Development
The Marketing Division manages branding, promotional campaigns, sponsorships, and fundraising efforts, working to raise awareness and financial support for the Institute’s mission. This includes corporate partnerships, direct mail, and planned giving programs to enable members and supporters to contribute to the organization’s goals.
Responsible for public relations, this division oversees newsletters, the national website, social media, and other communications. They work to amplify the Institute’s message, showcase its programs, and engage with veterans and supporters nationwide, ensuring the community is informed and connected.
Media and Communications
National Security and Veterans Transition
Located in Washington, this division collaborates with federal agencies to support active-duty personnel, veterans, and their families, particularly in areas such as health care, transition to civilian life, and veteran benefits. They also coordinate support for returning service members and POW/MIA advocacy.
Charitable Giving and Philanthropy
This division facilitates major gifts, planned giving, and donor recognition. By providing resources and options for supporters to give back, the Office of Charitable Giving helps ensure the longevity of the Institute’s work in education, healthcare, and veteran support.
The Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Division advocates for veterans' health care, disability benefits, and rights. Staffed by experts in veterans' law, the division provides representation and resources for veterans navigating the VA system, ensuring they receive the benefits they earned.
